This kind of fuse consists of three parts: fuse base, load arc- extinguishing device and an arc extinguishing device.
Active and static contactor is of bridge structure. While fuse is in closing position, active static contactor will be tightlypressed by compressed spring to guarantee a suitable pressure between contactors. A rotary torsion spring is equippedin the lower end of arc extinguishing tube. When a fuse-element is put in the tube the torsion spring will be screwed tightly,the fuse will be in drawing tightly condition to ensure the arc-extinguishingtube self-locked in closing position.
When overload or short-circuit occurs, fuse-element will be melted and the fuse will be quickly drawn out from the fuse tube by the torsion spring. Meanwhile, a great deal of arc-extinguishing gas is produced in the fuse tube by electric arc heat energy to extinguish electric arc quickly.
After electric arc-extinguishing, the voltage between the both ends of the fuse is regained. The fuse tube will be dropped out by its weight and a function of compressed spring with bridge contactors.
So an obvious disconnected section will be produced. Arc-extinguishing tube is designed at a step by step gas-discharging type. While breaking a low current gas produced will be released from the lower vent. While breaking a high current, the gas produced will be released from the upper cap to realize a gas release from both the top and the bottom, which meets the requirements of breaking different current in the same time.
