According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China and industry media reported on August 5, 2026, China's cumulative transformer export value reached RMB 13.809 billion in the first quarter of 2026, marking a year-on-year increase of 43.13%. With a global power transformer supply gap of up to 30% and average delivery lead times exceeding two years in European and American markets, Chinese transformer manufacturers are emerging as a critical force in bridging the worldwide supply shortage.

Prefabricated Substations Accelerate Export Growth; High-End Turnkey Equipment Becomes New Growth Driver

At the same time, high-end turnkey power equipment—particularly prefabricated substations—is seeing accelerated overseas adoption. China's highest-voltage prefabricated substation ever exported was recently successfully commissioned in Oman. The entire system was designed, manufactured, and system-tested in China, and was operational upon arrival with a "plug-and-play" assembly approach.

Prefabricated Substations and Turnkey Equipment Gain Global Traction

• Iraq Power Project (Early 2023): Tianan delivered three prefabricated substations for a local grid upgrade project. The modular design, compact layout, and rapid deployment capabilities earned high recognition and positive feedback from the client.

• Kazakhstan Power Project (2025–2026): Prefabricated equipment delivered in 2025 has been operating stably on-site and has received strong endorsement from the local power company. In June 2026, Tianan delivered additional compact substations and prefabricated equipment, featuring specialized upgrades for cold resistance and sandstorm protection to withstand the region's harsh winter conditions, strong winds, and extreme temperature variations.

• Rwanda Power Project (April 2026): Four 110/15kV power transformers (two 20MVA and two 30MVA units) bound for Rwanda successfully passed factory acceptance tests, jointly conducted by Rwanda's national power companies EDCL and EUCL.
