As the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches on February 17, the global shipping market is experiencing a peak in capacity adjustments. The Gemini Alliance (comprising Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd) has directly canceled 16 voyages, affecting multiple core trade routes including trans-Pacific, Europe, Arabian Gulf, and East Coast of South America.
Hapag-Lloyd has been impacted on seven Asia-to-US routes and five Asia-to-Europe routes, with some routes also undergoing adjustments to port calls. Maersk has made temporary adjustments to its trans-Pacific routes, involving multiple services and major domestic ports, while simultaneously planning alternative routes to ensure booking security.
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has also canceled several voyages to Europe, the Mediterranean, and the United States due to the slowdown in demand on Asia-to-Europe and Asia-to-US routes during the Spring Festival period. Our company will closely monitor shipping developments to help our clients respond flexibly and ensure the smooth progress of their export operations.
Tianan, a company with over 30 years of experience in exporting electrical equipment overseas, will provide clients with professional and constructive advice based on dynamic market conditions.
